Welcome to another episode of Millionaire Secrets!
For today’s episode, I have been joined by a young entrepreneur who is taking the real estate industry by storm.
Not only is he a real estate expert but he has honed in on his unique skills to become an entrepreneur and a social media content creator.
The main reason I’m SO excited about having Corrado on the show is that his success story parallels mine in more ways than one…
After making it as a soccer player in Italy and after getting homesick, Corrado decided to start his own business. At just 18 years old, he started a nightclub promotion company.
After being continuously told how dangerous the nightclub industry is, Corrado decided to get into a pita franchise.
For those of you who know my story—you’ll probably know how this ended.
Corrado ended up losing $300,000 but turned it into the best lesson that he had ever learned.
Fast forward to now, Corrado made back his money within a year and is now a premier real estate agent and a savvy businessman in Toronto.
He has seen the highs and lows of investing and entrepreneurship and now he has a YouTube channel that he uses to help many young and aspiring business owners, as well as real estate agents and first-time investors.
Corrado believes that in business and life, it is the genuine relationships you build with people that are the most important and he has continued to prove that.
One of my favorite quotes of Corrado’s is this...
“Don’t always look at money. If you are good at something and passionate, the money will come.”

The $100 Million Exit: Your Roadmap to the Ultimate Payday Kindle Edition
by Jonathan Brabrand (Author) Format: Kindle Edition
4.9 out of 5 stars
Sound advice regardless of exit timing, great insight into successful exit process.
Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2020
As an experienced business advisor, owner, and investment banker I strongly recommend “The $100 Million Exit” to my clients, whether or not they are currently contemplating their own exit, because the fact is, this advice in this book will make their business better right now.
Owners must recognize the path from lifestyle business to marketable enterprise will benefit them at every step along the way, but that path takes planning and commitment. They may need to make a few sacrifices, but this investment will pay back many times over. That is a lesson well taught in the initial section of “Exit”.
Advice for improving the business, such as the need to have and monitor progress towards a business plan, will create value whether or not an exit is pending. Similarly, the author reminds us of the necessity for having a strong management team and succession plan in place regardless of potential exit timing. The importance of these sound practices cannot be overemphasized.
Understanding the timing for an exit, and a look behind the curtain at what the business sale process actually entails, are perhaps the most revealing of the many insights shared by the author that will be terrifically valuable to private business owners.
The in-depth sections walking the reader through the actual marketing and buyer-selection process fully deliver on the author’s promise to share insights into the M&A process rarely seen outside the investment banking world. And the guidance regarding risk management and avoiding surprises in bringing a deal to closing are perhaps the most valuable toward the end of actually delivering on the potential for exit.
Highly recommended.

A solid exit plan you don't want to miss
Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2020
As a young entrepreneur, this book was very eye-opening on what an exit plan for my young company could be like. As I read through the pages, I found myself asking invaluable questions and finding ways to apply it to my current business. The thing that struck me the most was how to think about building intrinsic value in a company besides personal involvement. The author draws from potent experience as a sell-side specialist and pays it forward with gems for business owners like "it pays to remember that buyers are buying your company's future, not it's past...I believe the best buyer for your business will most likely be one you have never heard of, not the one you're picturing" Great advise for business owners looking to sell their companies or young entrepreneurs early in the journey. This book gives the play-by-play of exiting your venture with joy. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy!!

As an entrepreneur myself, this quote really summed up Brabrand's book The $100 Million Exit for me, "An internal succession plan means the difference between building a business with intrinsic value and simply owning your own job." An invaluable reminder for all business owners with a vision and desire for scalability. Must read!

Fascinating Insiders View -- word to the wise -- work with a professional!
Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2020
I worked in bank marketing for 21 years -- 7 years for an investment bank. I've seen a fair number of mergers and acquisitions in that time -- some worked very well and some didn't. The missteps were often due to blindspots during the vetting process. This book is smart reading for anyone who dreams of selling their business for a big payday at some point. Many stories in this book serve as cautionary tales about what not to do and why it's smart to have a professional guide you through the process where there could be unforeseen pitfalls around every corner. Really interesting book!

Brabrand skillfully relays some of the most important lessons of business in the $100 Million Exit. One such lesson was from Chapter 5, when he reminds us that generating excitement in the market to drive higher valuation comes from presenting your organization as a compelling story of opportunity rather than just facts and figures. As an aspiring entrepreneur, this is something I will remind myself over and over again. Highly recommend.

Like many others like me, I had delusions of grandeur and stars in my eyes.... without any understanding or plan of how I was going to get there. the $100 million Exit gives you a plan, a guide, and the tools you need to know where you're going before you even begin.

Wanting to Exit Your Business? Brabrand is brilliant - your lighthouse with warnings of rocky shores
Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2020
Crinkle the pages. Turn down the corners. Mark sections to come back to reference.
"Surprises can be avoided, and the sources of these self-inflicted wounds are worth exploring and identifying to serve as a lighthouse, warning future sellers away from rocky shores."
Brilliant behind the scenes perspective from an investment banker, who believes in right fit partnerships and trust. That is evident not only in the narratives from twenty years of experience of business owners trusting their exit to Brabrand - they also trust him to share their journeys with us. Most of these lessons are typically experienced only in confidential conversations and behind closed doors.
There are many options open for founders as they consider an exit, Brabrand breaks it down into an easy reference playbook.
I agree with Brabrand, "private equity groups and other financial buyers are not the right partners for all businesses." If you are thinking of selling your business, make the investment in yourself and your company to read and know what to expect in the process. Don't find yourself on rocky shores you could have avoided with the right partner.
Do you want to know if you are facing headwinds or tailwinds? It's in the pages.

Interesting Insights into the World of M&A
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2020
This book uses real-world examples from Jonathan's long career in middle market investment banking to demonstrate both best practices and common pitfalls to avoid for any founder, CEO, or owner considering a sale of their business. It is both highly detailed but also easy to understand, which keeps the content interesting throughout the book. Chapter 10 - "Minimize Surprises" was my favorite, as it highlights heightened buyer sensitivity during the late phase of a sale process and conveys an important message in M&A: "time kills all deals". Great book!
