I lost over 80 lbs using this method, and I have kept it off for over 4 years now. Initiall it was tricky to let go of crappy snack food, but at first I lost a pound a day for over two weeks! Staying true to 'no sugar' and using nuts to keep my body from eating my muscles kept the weigh coming off steadily. My initial weight loss goal was 175 lbs and I ended up at 147 lbs and in total shock! (I started around 228)

You have to read the entire book before you start, it took me months to prepare to begin my lifestyle change. This plan is much easier to start in the late fall/winter time. The no fruit was hard at first, but I added berries and tomatoes back in as soon as I could. I still continue to not eat fruit for a period of time each winter. I started this after years of yo yo diets. But once I began eating this way, I could not go back to processed chemical food. I now consider myself a purist. I honestly maintain this lifestyle using a lot of trim healthy mama recipes now. They are (almost) in line with Dr Gundrys ideas, they are sugar/gluten free sisters from New Zealand.

In the world of epigenetics, Dr. Gundrys book is the best approach in the business. Cancer feeds on sugar, and this approach is a great way to rebuild your body as a fighter. Dr Gundry has personally answered many emails from me, and supported me using this with my Autistic son.

I truly hope to be the woman in the first chapter of his book. I look younger now than I did 10 years ago and I weight less than I did on high school. This book helped me become a smart food consumer.

I'm a vegetarian. I read this book on the recommendation of a friend. I did the diet for awhile, lost four pounds and was disappointed, although my skin looked good and my energy level went up. I don't have a lot of weight to lose--maybe 18 lbs--but I felt like a lump of toneless blubber. Back fat. Front fat. A waist less torso. Then I started listening to the podcasts and found out I wasn't eating enough fat and the sugar free treats I allowed myself were getting in the way. Not to mention the cashews, which were my go-to snack. Said "oh, well, this isn't working" and ate pizza and peanut butter and jelly for a couple of weeks. Then I watched dr. Gundry's videos on YouTube. Uh oh. Got myself some ketosticks, and went back to it with a vengeance, ditching tomatoes and lectin-heavy foods.i carry around olive oils to drizzle on pretty much everything. Stocked up on Mikey's ketogenic pizza bases, bitchin sauce and avocados. All of a sudden, everything works. I've lost 9 pounds in a week and a half. Pants are fitting. Ketosticks are reliably purple. I'm taking the right supplements and cravings are almost all gone. I'll check back in in a couple of months when my bloodwork is done but I'm pretty convinced that this is the answer to a lot of health and weight issues. No brain fog. Give this a try. Do it hard. Try this for a snack: bake a Mikey's ketogenic pizza crust until it's kinda crunchy. Smear it thickly with chipotle Bitchin Sauce (which would make cat food taste good) put some smashed avocado on that, salt and pepper, then some chopped onion or scallions and a serious sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. It will set you free, is what I'm saying.

Although he was not in favor of soy beans or any other bean, his editor for the then New, untried author, who was a vegetarian and lived soy insisted that he recommend soy or no one would buy the book. The new book addresses these apparent contradictions, which were confusing and there has been many years of research and changes made from the first book. I live the program and have found many positive changes in my blood glucose, weight, and mental clarity. I’m 71 years old and I’d like to live a long healthy life and die young as Dr. Gundry advocates. I’m sorry that some people didn’t understand or were confused by the changes over time, but I would prefer to get advice from someone who admits errors and makes changes to reflect greater understanding than someone who refuses to change because it might hurt the sales of his previous books and videos.

It is very rare, in this world of "Snake Oil" salesman, that one can find someone who his committed to really helping people lose weight and improve their health. I have read many reviews that give Dr. Gundry's organization very bad ratings. I don't know what they were expecting, maybe to take a couple of pills and instantly lose lots of weight. I can't say that I've tried Dr. Gundry's diet to see if it works. I'm having a hard time with the fact that this man worked at Loma Linda University and can say that plants like beans, peas and legumes are bad for you. Loma Linda University pioneered a vegetarian diet (followed by Seventh-day Adventists) that has proven to aid in not only longevity but also in the lowest incidents of cancer and heart disease. I would want to read a lot more about the research by other doctors and scientists before I could jump on their band wagon.

And probably once every two weeks Ill have a splurge.if its just a treat or an all out cheat day, but then I feel nausiated because junk food does not agree with me anymore because Ive gotten so accustome to healthy food. I cannot rave enough about this book! If I can lose over 50 lbs and keep it off, anyone can because I was out of control eating junk with a,stalled out metabolism!!!
