I have read so far the only two third of the book and am already giving a 5 star because this book is much worth than the cost of the book for me. I have no marketing experience, except that I have been selling my products on my own to people I meet on cash and check basis. Since I am shifting my business to Internet I bought this book so I can start my on-line business with a sound plan. I think he's a good writer in that he can explain the concepts very well in a plain English even I can understand well (English is my second language).
I think this is a good book for people with high motivation like myself and already have good products or services and ready to sell but not completely sure on what exactly to do.
In the next few months I will be implementing the content of this book, and if I see PROFIT I will come back here to add more comments.
One cannot forget, though, that books or instructions does not guarantee the results and we are the ones responsible for the results of whatever we do.

Chapter 6 alone can change your business...

This book is a fast read and much of it may seem obvious. The best ideas often are obvious but that doesn't mean that we are applying them properly or that we are thinking about them in the right way... here's a simple example...
In Chapter 6, Mark Joyner lays out the three critical elements of an Irresistible Offer:
1) a High ROI Offer
2) a Touchstone (clarified offer)
3) Believability
He then walks through these steps with examples from real life like Domino's Pizza, and shows us how to use them in our own businesses and proposals.
Take Mark's simple timeless instructions and apply them to every offer that you are extending to your markets and customers, and I predict it will have tremendous effect on your results.

The Irresistible Offer is one of the best books I've read (and I've read quite a few books on marketing) that gives practical, step-by-step instruction on how to create an irresistible offer for your potential customers. This book is destined to be called "The Source For Offer Creation" because it's that good!

Fast marketing and sales design in a book

As a seller you have a short time to attract the attention of a buyer. Your message must be on point to get the information across in a short time that keeps the attention of your buyer. This book helps by using a simple formula to either write sales scripts or advertisements. There are plenty of real world examples in the book from Dominoes Pizza and their "30 minutes or it's free" guarantee to Fedex.
This is a great book for a seasoned sales person to freshen up or someone who is new to know what to do in the sales process. This would also go the same for an advertiser or a small business person who would like to get an edge on the message that their client is seeing.

The Author has offered, in a very timid and unassuming way A TRUE MASTERPIECE.
The book looks poor, the text looks scarce.........still what he tells you can be translated IMMEDIATELY INTO REAL GOLD.
In a world where all are Internet "gurus", in a world populated by people who pose as "experts", you find this gem, written by somebody who does not speak at length because HE LAYS DOWN HARD FACTS one after the other, with no mumbo jumbo to confuse and flourish the concepts.
And this is perfectly in character: in fact he tells you that THIS IS THE WAY MARKETING SHOULD BE, barebone, quintessential VALUE AND BENEFIT, immediately and elementarly communicated in a few words.
It helped me to open a sales marketing letter in a way that does not sound like "marketing jargon", overloaded, boastful, bombasting.
No. It helped me to write an opening in just 4 lines, BUT THOSE FOUR LINES ARE CATCHING PEOPLE'S ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY, because they are spelling out the magical elements that Marc Joyner so beautifully illustrates in this book.
And those four lines are HONEST, TRUE, BELIEVABLE SUBSTANCE.
People notice that, that's why they read the remaining of my sales letter.
Had I applied the concepts of the other "gurus" I would have created a castle of cards, I would have alerted potential buyers: "Hey, I am trying to sell you something...and I don't care if I sell you something of value, something you need. All I care is to confuse you so much to buy my stuff"
People are not at all stupid. Marc Joyner addresses this SUPERBLY.
I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THIS BOOK!!!

A must buy if you're serouis about marketing you business

I have purchased and read many books on business from marketing to advertising and this is BY FAR MY FAVORITE!!!. Why? Simple, it gets right to the point, is an easy read (so many authors to me overwrite and end up making you read irrelevent or cumbersome material) and most important gives you real world example of how the big/successful companies use marketing effectively. What I really like is that you don't need to be a fortune 500 company to use this authors ideas. From a mom and pop store to a huge company all his material applies. You won't regret this purchase.

This for me would easily make my top 5 marketing books of all time .. i just could not put it down - not normal for me .. i really wish i read it years ago .. I love how simple it was ... I have already applied it to my business .. the small changes that I made really could end up saving me years of wasted efforts .. Thank you Mark .. this book is a classic
Not Just for Established Marketers

I just read through over 20 very personal reviews of this book. Many of the names are recognizable as well established (some even considered gurus) online marketers. At first blush it may seem that the list of rave reviews are simply the 'old boys network' working together to give Mark the 'high five' on his recent release...
But once you've read this book you'll realize that something very different is at play here.
For many it takes a second reading to see it or 'get' it. This has a lot to do with Mark's teaching style - he keeps it simple in words while implanting the required knowledge for successful branding and marketing.
If you're not going to read it twice, then at the very least spend the first reading undistracted.
As for my personal review, I wish this book had been around 2 years ago when I first began marketing to individuals rather than corporations. My business would be much different today had I known.
Mark Joyner's insights and advice in The Irresistible Offer would have saved me months of work struggling with sales letters, hunting down free and paid assistance, strategizing and so forth. Now that I've read this book I know what needs fixing.
If you're new to business, advertising, promotion, marketing, sales - whether in the dirt or online world - the insights into 'what works and why' contained within this book's pages will serve you well.
Don't make a mistake and think that this book is only for the already successful entrepreneur. This book is absolute gold to intermediate level marketers, and should be a 'bible' to any beginner. As for the experienced crowd, Dr. Joe Vitale - who 'wrote the book on marketing' for the AMA - calls The Irresistible Offer a breakthrough.
This is for you, no matter what level you're at.

The title itself is an excellent example of "the irresistible offer." The "3 seconds or less" refers to the amount of time you have with a prospect to get and capture their attention. However, the way the title of the book is written, you could interpret it to mean it will only take you 3 seconds or less to learn how to sell your product. Now that's great copywriting! And for anyone who wants to succeed in business, this book is a great reference. Buy it. Read it. Apply the lessons. And succeed. Even after nearly 30 years in advertising, I learned from this book.

Mark delivers immediately actionable content that builds the foundation every business needs, their offer.
While teaching in the Craig School of Business at CSU Fresno, I used "The Irresistible Offer" as a course text in the semester long course, Business Plan Writing. It set the stage for the students' marketing plans, and is the promise that their businesses were built around. Since then, it's been a staple of my consulting practice to help businesses differentiate and grow.
Peter Drucker said that marketing and innovation produce results, while everything else is a cost.
An irresistible offer is the ideal outcome when developing the marketing for any innovation. Without it, attracting and closing prospects requires so much more effort.
This book is in the "reference manual" section on my bookshelf, alongside other worthy titles, like "Blue Ocean Strategy" and "Pitch Anything".

Does your marketing suck? Read this book and apply the easy to understand formulas to your business. And if you really, really stink at being creative, selling, writing, marketing and crafting killer offers, hire a professional.

In one word, this book is POWERFUL!!! I thought Joseph Sugarman had the market on this type of material, but this book is the missing ingredient to writing POWERFUL Copy! Since I've read this book, my copy gets READ and ACTED upon IMMEDIATELY! And that's what I want. OUTSTANDING book! Mark provides very practical examples of promoting your product or service...It is easy to read and there is plenty of white spaces on each page. This makes it easy for any type of notation and ease of use of the highlighter...I read the book in one sitting while awaiting my delayed flight and I was excited after reading the book and I was not upset with the delayed flight...The only section I disliked in the book was the section on magic BUT I understand his viewpoint of why he wrote about magic...Buy a copy and see how you can profit rather quickly and learn about magic.
