Today’s guest on the Millionaire Secrets podcast, "How He Successfully Scaled His Healthcare Practice", is Dr. James Neilson Watt.
James is a former healthcare practitioner who ran his own wildly successful clinic.
When he no longer enjoyed the grind of day-to-day clinic life and began wanting more freedom, he started to explore methods for making money online.
But it wasn’t until his wife fell pregnant with their first child that he really started to get serious about an online business and breaking away from clinic life!
In fact, he credits the birth of his first child as giving him the strong enough WHY that he needed for finding success and, ultimately, becoming a millionaire.
Like any good father, James was desperate to provide well for his child and his wife.
Not only this, but he also wanted to be at home and to spend as much time as possible with his young family.
So James had his WHY.
From there, he became ruthless with his time management and this created an incredible level of productivity.
He realized just how much time he'd been wasting before. Now he had a burning desire to succeed, and this naturally created an impactful time management philosophy.
It's not just about time = money.
It's so much more than that. It's about realizing that we all have a bank account of time. Some of us are spending that time wastefully. Others are not.
I loved this chat with James as I think it really digs into something that we haven't covered in so much detail before on the podcast - time management philosophy.
So James makes his millions selling services to practitioners and clinic owners in the health niche.
As stated before, James built his own wildly successful health clinic. He did this thanks to a rather natural understanding of the need for good marketing that would grow an audience and create engagement. Other practice owners lacked this talent.
And so, this was his superpower. And it was something he didn't realize he had until other clinic owners started coming to him for help.
His online business born.
It didn't take long for James to see the true value he was offering people and upped his prices accordingly. Within a few short months, he was making $100k per month, and not long after that, he made his first million.

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: AI, Machine Learning, and Deep and Intelligent Medicine Simplified for Everyone
by Dr Parag Suresh Mahajan MD (Author)
4.7 out of 5 stars
Easy to understand information about the state of the field post-Covid
Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2021
This is a comprehensive look at the changing face of medicine. Covid vastly increased the use of telemedicine. What most consumers don’t know is that the evolution of Artificial Intelligence is moving at a pace that might give patients and healthcare professionals whiplash if they attempt to study all of these developments individually. The author has packaged the current status of AI in Healthcare into a very accessible book. The terminology and techniques presented can be understood by the typical lay person. Having this resource will enable today’s patients to be informed when discussing their own health concerns with their doctor. More impressive to me is the pace of development of self-monitoring healthcare artificial intelligence that can be obtained through the internet and smart devices such as phones, watches, and other monitors.
Because AI is increasingly used in making medical decisions, patients may become concerned about ethical decision making. This topic is included in the volume as well and the topics presented may be shocking to the reader(such as how the machine can learn bias through its algorithmic program and input of data).
As frightening as AI in healthcare might seem, it has moved healthcare forward in a number of ways: diagnosis, monitoring, screening, surgical and treatment accuracy, drug and equitable development to name a few.
During this post-Covid era, the section on the use of AI for screening, social distancing, and treatment development is particularly interesting. Recommended reading for those who take charge of their own healthcare and want to stay abreast of these issues.

Brilliantly Written Reference about Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare

Dr. Parag Mahajan delivers an exhaustive reference work detailing the role of AI/Machine Learning/Deep Learning in medicine. AI has been around and in use for some time already. Having a medical background I was already aware of some of these uses and had not always looked upon AI favorably. However, as giant technological advancements have been made, it truly is awe-inspiring to contemplate what a valuable tool it really is in being able to improve our lives and those of whom we serve. This book opened my eyes to the positive strides that have been made and will continue to be made.
I loved the breakdown of various medical disciplines in Section 8 (but if it had been in alphabetical order I would've liked it better). Also, as many have commented on, looking at AI in view of the current pandemic is a great way to get a look at AI in practical application in terms we can relate to.
Another great discussion was Section 6, Chapter 4 - AI in Medical Education. Unfortunately it seems to be the way of things that education is often the last arena to be brought up to speed. I'm glad to see the issue addressed here. Section 10 is yet another captivating section centering on specific corporations and their efforts into medical AI.
Although so much information could quickly become overwhelming, Dr. Mahajan delivers it in such an engaging manner that is understandable. Neither was I lost in the information, nor did I feel it patronizing. I found myself not wanting to put it down! Highly recommend this book!
Compares favorably to my gold-standard book

I'm not a doctor; I'm an artist. But Artificial Intelligence has come into the field of graphic design with a vengeance— Adobe, for instance, is constantly developing new features powered by the kind of iterative machine learning described here— and so this book caught my interest. It also helps that I have family members in the medical field (including one who is an engineer designing surgery robots).
Whenever I read a non-fiction book I compare it to the excellent "Lore of Running" by Timothy Noakes, M.D., which is indeed a book about running— but it begins with a detailed discussion of energy transport in muscle cells and builds from there until it has covered every aspect of the topic: history, practical advice and a look toward the future.
This book comes out very favorably in that comparison! Dr. Mahajan has covered the topic beginning with explanations of AI for laymen like me, carrying on through ethical concerns, mythbusting and finally a granular breakdown of the current and potential state of AI in every imaginable field from nutrition to veterinary medicine. As I see that this is the third edition, it's also good to know that the work is kept up to date. An ambitious effort, well carried out.

Comprehensive and Fascinating look at the future of medicine

As a former nurse, I was drawn to read this book to discover what changes and advances are being made in the field of medicine. The possibilties are endless in every single field of medicine. AI doesn’t frighten me. I’ve seen first hand what human error can do in the medical field. Our cars are heading the same way with automated driving that can predict situations and react faster than a human being. The author presents comprehensive data as to how AI is being used and can be used in so many different areas of medicine. It’s biggest challenge may be the one he mentions early in the book - human connection and the fact that only 7% of our communication is verbal with the other 93% being visual/physical.
A very in-depth book. I think many in the medical field will find it fascinating reading.

AI, Machine Learning and Deep & Intelligent Medicine Simplified for Everyone
The future can be difficult to predict. But one thing that's certain is the ever-changing world of technology continues to advance at a pace we may not always understand or even like. Nowhere else is it advancing faster than in the health sector where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already improved millions of lives!
In this book you will learn about some great improvements made by artificial intelligence with chapters covering all aspects including how machine learning works differently from deep learning; what exactly neural networks are doing behind closed doors; why was Google so excited when they built their first complete self-driving car model? And much more...

I found this book really very informative and useful. I had all sorts of notions as to what AI did and can do but I was surprised to find out the facts and how it has been implemented into our health system.
The book is well written and formatted, the grammar is good and it is written in a style that is easy to understand and retain information.
I liked that the book has been written in a way that really breaks down the subject and that the concepts are also presented in a way that informs and then educates around the subject. It's not written so that you are expected to have some knowledge of the subject first even though the subject is niche.
AI is simply incredible and what is happening right now in health care with these new tools is astonishing. This is a fascinating book and an eye opening experince.

In today’s crazy world, we are facing a real shortage of qualified healthcare professionals. I’ve heard friend who are healthcare workers say that healthcare data management is overwhelming to such a degree that they’re literally unable to fully review, correctly diagnose and provide timely treatment. This books detailed how innovative analytical technologies that address this problem is readily available but not fully utilized. Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: AI, Machine Learning, and Deep and Intelligent Medicine Simplified for Everyone outlines exactly how healthcare professionals can be supported using artificial intelligence.

This really is an exceptional book, if you can keep up with it. It's not exactly an easy read but it is very good indeed!
The book asks very important questions and when you take a min to think about them they have far-reaching consequences. I really liked that because it's not as intuitive as you would think and that's why I found myself engrossed very quickly in a book that, to be honest, I didn't think that I would get into. It was recommended to me but I took it on as a favour, I'm glad I did.
The book is complex as are the issues that it considers, be prepared for a deep dive into AI in healthcare. Great stuff here.
Excellent book for understanding AI in healthcare

I’m not super scientific, technical, or savvy re AI, but I still found this book very clear and easy to understand. The ways AI has moved healthcare forward and helped the global community is phenomenal.
It’s good to note that AI won’t replace professionals, but instead is here to help them. I was happy to learn so many amazing things, such as (for just one example of hundreds) Facebook’s role in suicide prevention through AI. My favorite point made was that by taking care of healthcare's mundane, rote, repetitive tasks and thereby saving time and energy, AI can help us do what we do best: be more human.
Intriguing and Thought-Provoking

What we once thought of as impossible is just around the corner. This is both good and bad. Patients would have better control of their health. Doctors would have help, and then possibly more accurate results. However, what about the security of medical records? Also, would the patient bedside manner no longer be of value? Would doctors end up being replaced? This and so much more is discussed in this book. Intriguing but also kind of frightening when you think about it. Very educational read!
Informative and Interesting Insight into AI

Very good insight into the emerging technologies in health care AI that may seem to be science fiction to most people. This book does provide a ton of medical information and uses of AI, but it doesn’t seem to be only written for people in the medical field. I imagine this book being very useful to anyone who is scheduled to undergo surgery or other medical procedures or making medical decisions using AI so that he/she will understand a doctor’s perspective. Definitely worth the read.

What a complex field! This book covers every concept of how AI works and its applications in the medical field. There is a vast array of concepts where AI is helpful in our advancement, and each is covered thoroughly in this book. The data collection is so deep that machines are conducting actual procedures! Mind blown! So many advancements are related to AI, and it is astounding. Great book and a great resource to learn more on AI's application into the medical field (or AI in general).
Artificial Intelligence . . . Friend or foe?

AI in healthcare is packed with interesting information. I found this book to be insightful, well-researched, and thought-provoking. I compare this to the introduction of Tesla. Could it be dangerous at times? Yes. If all cars were self-driving, we would have way fewer accidents. So, my thoughts on AI in the medical field . . . Go BIG or GO HOME. I like that the author takes the time to update (3rd addition). In a field like AI in medicine, you either update or slip into antiquation. Very educational.

With all the weirdness out there around AI and robots taking over and the multi-verse etc it's kind of difficult to know what is reality and what is conspiracy BS. Dr. Mahajan does an excellent job of breaking down different types of AI technologies, and how and where they are being used. He does so with language that even I could get my arms around. This was an excellent introduction to the topic; I feel much more informed about what's going on in our healthcare system.

AI is here to stay, let us all hope that the medical community in the United States uses it for patient advocacy instead of pushing for maximum patient turnover and reduced time with an actual doctor. I fear it will be used for profit only. The author does take the high road and explains all the good that can be accomplished with AI. Maybe the assembly line of HMO patient care can be improved with AI.
Interesting developments in AI and Healthcare.

Covid has exponentially increased the need for AI in healthcare. The idea of going onto an office and seeing a physician is becoming a thing of the past. The presence of monitoring devices along with the logic developed to monitor and alert about anomalies with vitals, blood pressure, oxygen levels is more available. The author has shown the current status of AI in Healthcare along with the terminology and techniques which can be understood by the typical lay person. Having this resource available will help future patients understand the lingo along with what to expect as we turn the corner on technology and introduce AI.

With a background in healthcare IT, I was curious to catch up with AI in the field. This book is well-written, thoroughly researched, and laid out well for the lay person to follow. A highly recommended book for anyone looking to survey the field, or even for would-be investors in medical tech. There are a lot of stories in the news regarding AI used in cars such as Teslas, but it likely will be in the medical field that the most advancement is made the quickest -- with wide-ranging impact. This book, now in its 3rd edition, cuts through the hype, the myths, and the fears to give an honest assessment.

Doctor Mahajan provides a complete look at the impact of AI in the medical field. Though it is certainly not a "light read", it is an important piece of the ever growing puzzle in contemporary medicine. Doctor Mahajan is always careful to instill caution in either rejecting or completely embracing technology before it is adequately evaluated. That said, there is a lot of enthusiasm for what technology brings to medicine. From a lay person's point of view, it is nice to see how much innovation is actually taking place. Great for those in the medical field.
